Its begining to look alot like chirstmas!

'Tis the season! Don't you just love the holiday season. Its the best! I love driving around and seeing all the decorations in town, and then driving around at night and season some great yard decorations. My mother is one of those people that goes nuts for Xmas decorations! You could see our house from down the street because of the glow of our front yard. I wish i had a picture to share with you, but I don't have one. So ill try to put a picture in your head, We had at Least 5 of the those blow-up decorations. I think we had one for all the major holidays! And then Imagine that someone threw-up lights on the front lawn. We made it look good though. You could always tell when you did a good job on your yard decorations when people drive really slow or even stop in front of your house! Its always fun to decorate!
Decorations the yard, the Christmas tree, cookies, and the inside of the house! Its all fun until December 26th when having Christmas decorations is  no longer needed and it all has to come down,  but when does anyone ever get all the decorations, I  know that I'm finding decorations well into July that I just totally forgot about! As soon as I really start hitting the decor I will be sure so share some pictures!
Happy Holidays!

My dogs!

Over thanksgiving break I always enjoys watching the national dog show! I love dogs, and my family can back me up on that fact. While watching the national dog show John O'Hurley recited the best poem i have ever heard. Its about giving thanks and is more geared towards thanksgiving, but I must share it with those who didn't watch the Dog show! I swear I was on the verge of tears after hearing this:

I give pause to my paws on this day of Thanksgiving,
Whether wide-eyed, or doe-eyed, or with eyes that seem hidden,
They're focused on you,
As I watch for a clue
Just wink or a touch,
Says I'm important to you.
But my words sound like woof
My voice kind of gruff,
So I know that
My thanks may seem never enough,
But this secret I share
With you on a whim
All dogs speak best with what's farthest from them,
Whether fluffy or skinny, full-sized or "a la carte"
Always watch for our tail,
It's attached to our heart.

I love my dogs!

Operation yellow chalk

Since it's the end of the semester and today was the last day of actual classes, I decided to pull a small prank. To some this prank may seem completely stupid but to me and the other two students in my environmental chemistry class, it was the perfect way to end the semester!
In the classroom in which my chem class was being taught the room still had chalkboards, no new age white board. (all green markers smell bad!) And throughout the semester our teacher had always used white chalk no matter how small the piece, even when there was a perfectly good piece of yellow chalk on the ledge. He would also always note there was never enough chalk in the room. So one day in the middle of the semester I deiced to conduct a small experiment. I arrived early to class on day and took all the white chalk in the room, leaving the yellow chalk at the front board, and placed it in the back of the room under an eraser. (there were multiple erasers so there was no need to have this on the main chalk board in the front of the room). You couldn't exactly tell that there was white chalk under the eraser and in order to get it to you had to walk all the way to the back of the room. When class started the teacher started lecture and then noticed that only yellow chalk remained at the front board, he then looked around and notice the eraser and walked all the way to the back of the room with our skipping a beat in the lecture. Now before class started and my other two class mates arrived I had told them what I had done and thought it to be as hilarious as I did. So as the teacher proceeded back to the front of the room with the white chalk, we could hardly keep our composure. So I started thinking of when I would conduct my final experiment of only having yellow chalk in the room!
So today being the last day of classes I thought it would be the perfect day!
What I didn't expect, was how hard it would be to get a box of only yellow chalk, ( a box of white.. not a problem, and a box of multicolored no probemlo...  but a box of only yellow chalk.. you must be talking craziness)
So my partner in crime (who I shall keep anonymous, for her safety from the Wal-Mart chalk patrol) deiced that we would take the two pieces of yellow chalk from the multicolored boxes and create a yellow chalk box!! PURE BRILLIANCE!
The starting product. A 12 multicolored box of chalk
What happens when you take out the yellows and replace with different color. someones gonna get mad.

Our finihsed product, a box of only yellow chalk!
Operation Yellow Chalk on 12/01/2011 at 13:00 was underway.

I decided to make it more believable that there was only yellow chalk at the board when i got to the classroom, and started studying, before class. I was at the front board working on a problem with a classmate, using the YELLOW CHALK. We worked it out and then made it to our seats and class was to begin. The teacher took a look at the chalk ledge and noticed that there was only yellow chalk, turned to us students looked at me and states "Hey, you stole me white chalk!" I thankfully said nothing aloud, but i was screaming "HOW DID YOU KNOW IT WAS ME!!!" in my head.. he then laughed and said "just kidding, its funny there was so much chalk before now there is only yellow". Class resumed and he used the yellow chalk the entire time. At the end of class, me and my two classmates were glad that operation yellow chalk had been successful and found it hilarious that he jokingly blamed me for the missing chalk. I then took the white chalk out of my backpack and placed it back on the ledge,... after the teacher had left. We left the classroom having a successful semester! Good times!

Its that time of the semester!

So currently I am sitting in the library here at Adrian College. It's the week before finals, and its gets pretty hectic in the library. During the day its hard to find an open computer. Its simply a tease to lets students go home for Thanksgiving break for 5 days and then bring them back for two weeks. One week of classes, which usually consists of two things... 1. Well finals is next week so we are gonna cram all the stuff we haven't gotten to during this semester and Yes it will be on the Final! and/or 2. Its finals next week so we will go over everything that we have done over the semester to review for the final, yes I know you could have studied at home, but its more fun at school... right!...
Finals are the most hectic part of the school year! And it's different for everyone. Finals can be tests or even presentations, both need plenty of studying, which means long hours in the library. Some people are lucky enough have one final, because their teachers want to get out of here as much as we do. Some have maybe two to three finals over the finals week, and they are nicely spread out, with plenty of time to both sleep and study. some have three to five finals and they are crammed into two days, meaning that they have finals back to back, which just plain sucks.
My current desk situation, woot! Stats, you can even see that this blog is on the screen!
Luckily this year I got an okay finals schedule. I have a total of five finals. One of them is a presentation. the rest are all exams. Even though five finals sounds like a lot, and i won't lie, it is. The nice thing is that most of then are spread out. I have one Monday morning at 8:30am-10:30am, one on Tuesday 3:30-5:30pm, two on Wednesday 8:30am-10:30am and 3:30pm-5:30pm. the time between these finals is more than enough time to get a cat nap in and some last minute studying, and I'll make sure I don't forget my brain food! and then I ave my last final Thursday morning which happens to be that presentation I was talking about. After that I am Chicago bound. I will probably make it easier on myself and park outside the building that my class is in, that way I don't have to walk all the way back to my hall, just to jump in my car and go home!
Here at Adrian College the C.A.N. program (campus activities network) happily help us struggling students and give us something fun to do, to get us away from the book for a bit. Since it is so close to Christmas, tonight was our annual campus wide Christmas party! And yes, Santa did make an appearance. another fun event is B.I.N.G.O night! this is something that many students love about finals time. Its also breakfast under that stars! Who doesn't want to eat a pancake breakfast at 7pm and play bingo, for some great prizes.
Some people have a hard time sitting down and studying...like me! I always find myself doing something else.. one example would be writing this blog that you are reading. I should be doing some stupid web assign homework and working on an ESS paper that I have yet to start. Some people find it hard to study when they think they can be something more fun. The topic of the current post was going to be on this website that i stumbled across. http://www.rainymood.com/ this is a website that make it sound like its raining. I think that rainy weather is a good time to get stuck in the library and study! So if your having trouble getting your studying done, put your headphones on and check out the website.

I wish everyone the best of luck on their finals! Just remember that this means that the year is halfway over, and to my fellow seniors, its the halfway point of our last year! Good Luck! and make sure to get some sleep!
